i have a nes i will look for the game
This game makes absolutely no sense, but I guess the game-play is kinda sorta fun….?
To video maker.
So Amiga and C64 are average and this one is good?
No way hahahaha!
The computer version was a lot more based in movie than NES-version. The computer games have more variation in gaming and graphics are 1000 000 times better.
Your title of the video is how movies have turned into games. And if you find more movie from NES-version I say you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Even though nice analysis overall.
I don’t know if you grew up during the NES glory days or not.. but… I find it hard to believe that anyone would call this one of the best NES games. It’s really not worthy of that admiration. Sure, it was a great game, but compared to Castlevania I and III… Super Mario Bros. I and III…. Final Fantasy… Dragon Warrior… hell even Bases Loaded and Super Tecmo Bowl had more lasting playability than this game. Seriously, you either were poor and this was your only game or you are a youngling
Agreed. The whole ninja thing was badass till it completely took over the movie and destroyed it. In my opinion, of course.
So why did LJN make a horrid Terminator game for the NES? Check out AVGN’s review for that one if you haven’t already. Seriously, the game made no sense at all… it didn’t even have anything to do with the movie per se (though I haven’t seen Terminator 1 in a long time… HRM!! Gonna watch that right now actually… seriously though… terminator for the NES by LJN blew ass chunks….) =)
You could say the same thing about Fester’s Quest, another Sunsoft game.
I seem to remember reading an article once that said that their bizarre, franchise-oriented games had something to do with their losing the licensing to The Terminator (which they turned into Journey to Silius.
seriously this is a terrible game… it is sooo obvious that the programmers simply decided to add a sprite of Batman and the Joker to this game, and add some cut scenes, in order to sell a half-finished futuristic side-scroller that originally had nothing at all to do with Batman… honestly, isn’t it just completely obvious that this game was never meant to be a Batman game?
I have to agree with someone else here – there’s really no need for a movie recap. The whole point in watching this review is because you’ve seen the movie and maybe played the game. Bottom line is that if you haven’t seen the movie, a 1-3 minute recap isn’t going to fill in the gaps enough. Ditch the movie recap, you’re not reviewing a movie here. BEtter to just talk about the cool parts of the movie that aren’t in the game, and cut to the movie every now and again with humorous anecdotes.
This looks great
Although, for the movie’s plot, the Genesis version was much closer
Great review. You have a new subscriber.
Of course this game is the best Batman game! It’s made by the Japanese!
Far from PERFECT?! This is often considered one of the best NES GAMES! Jeez man ur not giving this game enough credit
I prefer Batman the Movie on C64 and Amiga.
A lot better than and more movie based than this shit.
You probably wouldn’t have to shout if you turned the background music down. Also, it’s great that you had a lot to say, but editing together your sentences so tightly make it sound like a machine. Also that said, a little enthusiasm in your voice couldn’t hurt. Otherwise it’s less like a conversation, and more like a lecture on rocket science. But maybe I’m completely wrong.
ididnt play this game much but it was cool
the only thing i don’t like about your reviews is the movie recap at the begining. other than that, fantastic work!
good review i use to play it when i was a kid dident notice all the flaws then but i just bought it again and its still pretty good i would give it a 7 also
Wasn’t it just.
YOU ROCK AT REVIEWING!
This was THE best Batman game EVER
You read my mind, my only gripe with the soundtrack is that you never once get to hear the Batman Theme Song throughout the game. They could have made some kind of 8-bit rendition for the title screen.
Well it’s like some people say: Just because a game’s hard doesn’t mean it sucks and Batman on the N.E.S. applies to that saying. Although if I remember correctly in the Sega Genesis version you do get to knock Jack Napier into the vat of chemicals at the end of the second level. I think that version was a little bit better.
I totally agree this game is just awesome but very hard and I love the sound track it has very catchy Music. I saw my cuz beat this game with out cheats with the exception with save states. I totally agree with Djc that the lion king as well as batman returns are great movie to game renditions.
The movie of course was excellent, a great translation of Batman to the big screen, but everyone knows that. The game was definitely a good one, but frankly, hard as fuck.I don’t think i ever got past level 2.
