New Games Overview

Bored? Nothing to do? That’s not true, and you know it. (Your parents must have told you this growing up!) Bored is a state of mind. Where there is internet access, there are virtually unlimited things to do-such as online games.

There are a lot of online games that you can play. My favorites are the ones that resemble the board games we play in real life. Some examples of online games that are modeled after classic board games include: scrabble, battleship, checkers, chess, and more.

Another great type of online game to play is a card game. There are tons of sites to choose from that offer card games, and they are not just solitaire, either! There are poker games, too, and you can also play every other classic card game that you’ve known and loved all your life. The beauty of it is there is no shuffling! Can’t argue with that, now can you?

There are also even game show websites from major television networks that feature online versions of their popular TV game shows! Family Feud is one cult classic that never gets old! There is also a great one from the Game Show Network called “Lingo” where you have to guess five letter words under a time limit, with only a couple letters as your clue.

Another classic game you can play online is Battleship. You can match your fleet-sinking skills against the computer and see who rules the seas!

The best thing about online games, in my humble opinion, is the fact that you can choose to play alone, with the computer, or against other people online just like you! I prefer to play against other human beings. There is something weird about playing against the computer opponent, I think. The only frustrating thing about playing against other real people online is that they sometimes want you to hurry up (or you want them to hurry up).

The most important thing to remember about online games is to be safe (ignore pop ups and don’t install anything you don’t need). It’s also best to surf sites from a company or brand you know.

Another important thing to be mindful of is to make sure you are polite to other players. Remember, when you’re gaming online-it’s only a GAME! It’s not the end of the world. If you’re not having fun and encouraging those you play with to do the same, then why are you playing a game in the first place?

Some people like to get really competitive when they play games, whether online or not. If that is you, make sure the person you are playing against online is the same as you are in that regard. If not, you could very likely offend the other person. Keep in mind that your opponent is still a person with a family and if you are rude, it could ruin the other person’s day. Again, that would just defeat the purpose of the game.

Have fun finding the games you like online. There are plenty to choose from. But remember to be a good sport when you play!

This driving game is the best (in our opinion) arcade style racing game ever created. You drive a Ferrari Testarossa through a variety of exotic levels through traffic to get the best time. So simple yet so thoroughly exciting and with high replay value. The Sega Power Base Converter was used to play OUTRUN through a Sega Genesis video game console. This cartridge is for the Sega Master System game system and is easy to find today and affordable to play. How does Out Run compare to other driving games like Test Drive Unlimited, Burnout Paradise, Forza 2 or Gran Turismo? Check it out and find out. Classic Game Room HD reviews MAG for Playstation 3 PS3. Multiplayer Action Game, hoorah! Mag may not be the most prolific shooter ever created but Sony’s PS3 exclusive shooter is made for massive multiplayer games and succeeds. Short on style but high on action, that’s MAG in a nutshell. Smooth online games with up to 256 player battles and very little wait time between matches. Headset compatible with lots of people playing and numerous combat style engagements, MAG excels where so many other shooters fall flat on their face. On the downside for some is the fact that MAG is multiplayer only, so the fun only lasts as long as people are playing it. MAG is like a combination of Warhawk and Modern Warfare 2. Well designed multiplayer boards and fast paced combat with upgrade ready machine guns, sniper riles and heavy weapons await PS3 gamers. Classic Game Room HD reviews FAT PRINCESS for PS3 Playstation 3, available for download from the Playstation Network. This castle defense, realtime strategy, Warhawk / Star Wars Battlefront game is wicked funny and packs some awesome gameplay. Solid technical details and hilarious art design round out a rediculous story about princesses eating too much cake and thousands of people slaughter each other for them. Play by yourself or online, this CGR review of Fat Princess has gameplay from Fat Princess in HD showing Fat Princess review game play in action. Also play Fat Princess soccer, throw bombs at people and hack them with swords. Capture outposts, rescue the princess, Fat Princess will appeal to fans of “capture the flag” style video games. Classic Game Room HD reviews PAC MAN for the NES, the Nintendo Entertainment System from Namco and Tengen. This 1993 release of the game is fairly true to the original although I found the speed of gameplay to bit slightly different. Pac-Man on NES starts off extremely slow and then picks up the pace rapidly. Visually true to the original with good sound and graphics, the Tengen release of Namco’s classic coin-op should please those collecting NES cartridges. It looks smooth too with Pac Man sporting a pimp hat on a classy black game cart. This CGR review of Pac Man on NES has gameplay from Pac Man on Nintendo showing 8-bit Pac Man game play in HD.

Classic Game Room HD reviews SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI: STRANGE JOURNEY for Nintendo DS from Atlus. With more than 300 demons to battle or recruit and a wild storyline taking place in Antarctica, Strange Journey is just that… a strange journey into an anomole spreading to destroy the Earth. Although this Shin Megami Tensei game seems to be the most grounded out of the several I’ve played lately. Fans of good old school adventure RPG games like Phantasy Star and The Dark Spire will dig this one. It packs that unique Shin Megami Tensei demon collecting and fusing style into a classic 1st person RPG video game that works well with the Nintendo DS. This CGR review of Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey has gameplay from the Nintendo DS release of Strange Journey showing video game play in HD action. You wear a cool suit in this game called the Demonica suit which gets more powerful as you gain experience. Players can upgrade the suit and buy new weapons, items, sub-apps and armor with Forma and items found within the anomole. Classic RPG adventure gameplay with that catchy Shin Megami Tensei style make this a must play for role playing game fans with a Nintendo DS. Video game comes packed in some of the best looking packaging that we’ve seen in years along with a soundtrack CD containing the unique music from the game.

This version of Dig Dug looks sharp, sounds good and plays like Dig Dug should play. There’s no messing with the classic, this is Dig Dug presented in its true arcade form. Solid gameplay as you dig through the levels and drop boulders on enemis like Fygars.
