   I was 13 in 1982(b1969) and hated this game, it made no sense it is awfull,
   my favourite games were pacman astoroids defender,space invaders , galaxian, phenix.pole posistion ,battletank etcetc my age was the 2600 demographic. you were born in 1978 so you were onnly 4! in 82 so how could you possibly play ET ?? and if you did when you were 4! no wonder you liked it……

   you say you had to be back in the day to enjoy this but even back then, it was considered cheap. The reason it sold well was because it was named ET and people liked the movie. that would be like getting some bag of dog crap and writing ET on it, it would sell well just because of its name

   E.T. isn’t the worst Atari game, but it certainly isn’t good, either.

    I agree with you completely. First he insults Zelda, then he continues on to say Joust was the best game in the 80’s? I had E.T. back in the day, I was 10 years old and I can honestly remember the best part of the game was the box and the title screen.

    i was alive when et came out..in fact i was 5 at the time and remember having played it back in early 1984…true at the time it wasnt THAT bad, however it is totally bad and boring nowdays….so i guess a lot of people who found it boring and BAD back in 1983 were right..i thought it was just ok even back then, no matter how enjoyable it did seem at the time.

    Well it fails to be an actual parody, because there is nothing to parody.

    The game is a genuine piece of crap and it caused the crash of the game industry in the 80s.

    That alone is a testimony to its crap factor.

    There was nothing original about it, and it in no way inspired games like Zelda.
