So for anyone thinking of buying a Nintendo Wii, my advice is to save another $100 and get a PS3. The Nintendo Wii is lots of fun, dont get me wrong. But the thing is that the PS3 has way better games than the Wii. Yeah it’s fun to move around and see your character do the same thing, but whenever I play Wii, it seems like the controls are lagging a little bit. The Wii sports games are a lot of fun though, especially Bowling and Tennis. I wish that Nintendo would come out with better game, more often because the folks over at Playstation get New, great games just about every week..I’ve been a Nintendo fan all my life but after getting a PS3 off of wavee, I havent played my Wii since..Plus, with the PS3 you can play music and bluerays..as well as surf the web.

Even though this is “black”, the stand is silver, and so is the ugly power cord.
Right out of the box the unit worked great. Even with the worst video connection (composite/480i) the picture isn’t bad at all from about 8′ away. I ordered the component cable to see if there is much difference (there should be going to 480p). My Denon receiver does a great job at upscaling to 1080p, so I should be happy.
Only one controller is kind of lame, but for the price I got it at, with sports, and sports resort, I can’t complain too much.

This product is undoubtedly good and fun, but I am really unsatisfied with the customer service. (You can see the packaging feedback I left. I already complained a lot about the delivery.) I received the product on 6/8 and everything worked just fine, including the Wii Sport and Wii Sport Resort games. Since then, I played other games frequently so I just put the Wii Sport disc aside. However, I found my Wii console could not read the Wii Sport disc anymore lat week. I followed the instruction on the screen and the manual again and again, but it still did not work. It just worked ONCE on 6/9, but no longer worked. It was just the second time I tried to use it, and it did not work! The console can still read other games such as Wii Sport Resort, New Mario Brothers, and Super Mario Galaxy, So I believed there was something wrong with the Wii Sport disc. I would like to replace the disc but not the whole console set, so I would like to contact the seller or Amazon. However, when I checked the Amazon Website, I could not find anywhere to contact the seller. The webpage is not user friendly.
I bought the product through Amazon because I thought it would be really convenient, but now I am really disappointed.

This is a Nintendo Wii. We’re all pretty much familiar with them. Wii Sports, Metroid Prime 3, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and more from the perennial player. This model however also includes the “Wii Motion Plus” and “Wii Sports Resort” as well. The Wii Motion Plus does make a significant difference in the ability of the Wii to track location and movement accurately, and it is used effectively by Wii Sports Resort.
In all reality however, the single biggest reason I bought this is to satisfy my near-OCD on my home theater setup. My electronics have to be black or metallic in color. My PS2, PS3, and Sega Saturn are all black, I bought an Xbox 360 Elite partially for that reason, and I even replaced my launch-day Sega Dreamcast with a “Sega Sports” edition for purely aesthetic reasons. Which then led to my covering my Wavebird receiver with black masking tape for that same purpose.
All in all, it’s a good piece of hardware. I don’t use it nearly as much as my Xbox 360 or PS3 because of my preferred games. For example, in the past year it’s been Brutal Legend, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption, and Just Cause 2 as my favorites. However the ability to play Super Metroid without emulating on my PC or having the occasional party game with the Wii makes it a definite worthwhile purchase. Recommended.
